Meet Fine Talc at the Paper & Tissue Show London

Fine Talc Ltd will be at the Paper & Tissue Show London on 11–12 November 2026 at ExCeL London. Over the same two days we will also be at the co-located Packaging & Recycle Show and at The Business Show London. Wherever you are on the campus, we are easy to find.

If you make paper, tissue, board, packaging, rubber or plastic compounds, we want to talk. Fine Talc is a UK supplier of A+ grade, asbestos-free talc in industrial, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food grades. We pack from 100 g sample packs up to 25 kg trade bags, and we work with SME manufacturers who need a responsive supplier rather than a minimum order built for a multinational.

This is the first UK edition of the Paper & Tissue Show, and it falls in the same week as London Pulp Week. Below you will find what each show covers, what talc does for paper, tissue and packaging, and how to book time with our team.

Three shows, one venue, two days

The Paper & Tissue Show has run in the Middle East for over a decade, and London is its first European edition. It shares ExCeL with two sister shows, while The Business Show London runs on the same dates in the north halls.

London is a logical home for it. The UK is one of Europe's key importing markets for paper, cardboard packaging, corrugated boxes and hygiene products such as tissue, so buyers and suppliers from the whole chain will be in one building.

The Paper & Tissue Show London is for paper and tissue makers, converters, machinery and raw-material suppliers. It opens from 10:00 to 18:00 on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 November.

The Packaging & Recycle Show runs alongside it and covers sustainable packaging, paper and board, recycling and circular-economy solutions. The Hygiene & Nonwoven Show, also running alongside, focuses on hygiene products, nonwoven materials and their technologies.

The Business Show London is for start-ups, SMEs and growing businesses, and entry is free. It runs in Halls N1–N4, from 10:00 to 17:00 on Wednesday and 10:00 to 16:00 on Thursday.

The Paper & Tissue Show programme includes workshops, seminars and presentations on sustainability, advanced manufacturing and market trends. The nearest station is Custom House on the Elizabeth line and DLR. Register through each show's website before you travel.

Why Fine Talc is attending

We are coming to ExCeL because UK mills, converters and compounders need mineral suppliers that move at their speed. Large mineral groups serve multinational accounts well. SME manufacturers often wait weeks for samples, face minimum orders sized for a full truck, and get little technical time for a trial on one line.

Fine Talc exists to close that gap. Our team has a pharmaceutical-formulation background, so we speak the language of specification sheets, batch consistency and documentation. Our industrial grades are built for rubber and plastics applications, covered in our guides to rubber-grade talc and talc in polypropylene. Paper, tissue and packaging are the natural next step.

Our goals for the two days:

Meet paper, tissue and board mills dealing with pitch and stickies deposits

Meet packaging converters and compounders working with virgin and recycled polymers

Meet distributors and agents serving UK and European SMEs

Agree sample trials that can start soon after the show

What talc does for paper and tissue

Talc is a soft, plate-shaped mineral with a naturally water-repellent, organophilic surface. That surface is why papermakers have relied on it for decades. On a paper or tissue machine, it does three jobs.

Pitch control

Wood resins in virgin and mechanical pulp form sticky colloidal pitch. Talc adsorbs and coats these particles, so they stay small and non-tacky and leave with the sheet. Without that, pitch builds up on wires, felts, rolls and dryer cylinders. Fewer deposits mean fewer breaks, fewer wash-ups and fewer spots and holes in the finished reel.

Stickies control in recycled fibre

Recovered paper brings in adhesives, hot melts, coatings and ink binders. These stickies grow as mills raise recycled content. Talc detackifies them in the same way. It matters most on tissue machines, where deposits on the Yankee cylinder hit runnability and sheet quality directly.

Filler and coating pigment

In supercalendered and other printing papers, platy talc improves smoothness, gloss and printability. In water-based barrier coatings, flat talc platelets lengthen the path water vapour must travel. That is useful as paper packaging replaces plastic laminates.

When you compare talc grades for a mill, check particle size distribution (median and top cut), brightness, purity, surface area and moisture. Above all, check consistency from batch to batch. Bring your current specification to the show and we will compare it with our grades.

Talc for packaging and recycling

The Packaging & Recycle Show is where paper and plastic packaging meet the circular economy. Talc earns its place on both sides.

Lighter rigid PP packaging.

Talc raises stiffness and heat resistance in polypropylene, so thin-wall tubs, trays, caps and closures can use less material. Our polypropylene guide explains how.

Stronger recycled polymers.

Post-consumer recyclate often falls short of virgin stiffness. A controlled talc addition can help recycled PP compounds reach their target stiffness and heat resistance.

Antiblock in film.

Fine talc stops layers of PE film sticking together on the roll and during bag converting.

Better paper packaging.

Platy talc supports water-based barrier coatings and print quality on board, as covered above.

One trade-off is worth planning for. Talc raises a compound's density, and heavily filled polypropylene can sink in the float-sink tanks recyclers use to separate polyolefins. Getting the filler level right gives you the stiffness you need while keeping parts easier to sort. That balance is exactly the conversation we want to have at ExCeL.

What B2B buyers get from Fine Talc

The Business Show London brings together thousands of SME owners and founders, many of whom buy raw materials without a procurement department behind them.

Whether you meet us there or at the Paper & Tissue Show, this is what working with us looks like.

If you need proof before you commit, we offer sample packs and small trial quantities for line trials. Orders come in 25 kg trade bags with no full-truck minimums, so the order size fits an SME. Every grade is A+ grade, asbestos-free talc, available in industrial, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and food grades.

For supplier approval, we provide technical and safety documentation for your quality file. And when you need a fast answer, you deal directly with the people who run the business.

Our cosmetic and pharmaceutical grades are also available in trade quantities for cosmetics brands, contract packers and resellers. To compare grades and safety points in more depth, read our talcum powder buyer's guide.

Talcum Powder for Waxing: Why It Works and How to Use It

Ask any beauty therapist what separates a clean, quick wax from a sticky, painful one and most will say preparation. Wax is designed to grip hair, but sweat and natural skin oils get in the way: the wax slides over the hair and sticks to the skin instead. A light dusting of talcum powder before waxing is one of the simplest ways to fix that, and it has been a standard step in treatment rooms for decades.

This guide explains why talc works, how to use it with hard wax, strip wax and sugar paste, and how to choose the right talc, whether you wax at home or run a busy salon.

Talc for Rubber: The Complete Guide to Rubber-Grade Talc

This guide is written for compounders, technical managers and buyers at UK rubber manufacturers. It explains what rubber-grade talc is, what it does inside a compound, where it is used, which specifications to check on a data sheet, and how to choose a supplier you can rely on batch after batch.

Rubber talc is a finely ground, plate-shaped mineral filler that rubber manufacturers use for three jobs at once: as an anti-tack dusting agent, as a processing aid and as a semi-reinforcing filler. Used well, it stops uncured compound sticking together, gives smoother extrusions with cleaner edges, and lowers compound cost without a large drop in physical properties.
